Good features, some setup time

I purchased the Plus Plan recently, mainly for the Recurring Donations and PDF Receipts features. The ordering process was straightforward on their site, no issues there. It took about a day to get everything set up and integrated with our existing WordPress theme, which was a bit more involved than I initially thought but the documentation helped a lot. We had a small hiccup with a payment gateway integration, so I contacted support. They got back to me within a few hours and helped resolve it. The forms themselves are quite flexible, and the donor management dashboard is clear. So far, the quality seems good. We're still in the early stages, but it's doing what we need.

Easy setup, good value

Got the Plus Plan during a seasonal sale. Needed the Recurring Donations. Installation was quick. It's working fine. Support answered a quick question I had about custom fields. Good value for what we paid.

Consistent performance, worth it

I've been using GiveWP for a couple of years now, and this latest renewal of my Pro Plan was as smooth as ever. I originally started with them for the Stripe integration and it has always worked flawlessly. I've added a few add-ons over time, like the Fee Recovery and Mailchimp integration, and they consistently perform. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect. No surprises, just reliable tools for our fundraising.

How does GiveWP stack up against Donorbox? Thinking about switching platforms but wanna make sure it's an upgrade.

C Chris 1 month ago
GiveWP is a WordPress plugin, so it's built right into your site, which is a big plus for control. Donorbox is more of a standalone service. Depends on how much you want integrated directly into WP vs. a hosted solution.

It's a different beast. GiveWP means you own the data more directly on your WordPress install. Donorbox is hosted. GiveWP has more flexibility for customization if you're comfortable with WP.

Does anyone know if the Agency plan discount applies to the first year only or if it's a recurring discount each year?

C Carly J. 2 months ago
Most of their initial purchase discounts, like for the Agency plan, are usually for the first year. Renewal prices might be different, sometimes there's a smaller renewal discount though.

First year, for sure. Renewals usually go back to regular price or a slightly lower renewal rate that isn't as steep a discount as the initial promo.

Can you actually accept recurring donations with the free version, or do you need a paid add-on for that feature?

N Nina Marsh 1 month ago
Nah, recurring donations are a premium feature, you'll need one of the paid plans for that. It's a pretty essential one for fundraising though!

Definitely a paid feature. The free version is super basic, good for one-off donations but not the recurring stuff.

Anyone know what the refund policy is like? Just in case it doesn't quite fit what we need for our charity.

T Tara 1 month ago
I think they have a pretty standard 30-day money-back guarantee. I haven't used it personally, but I've heard it's fairly straightforward.

yeah returns were easy, did it last month. Just contact support within the first month if it's not working out.

Hey, thinking about getting the Plus plan for my church's website. Does anyone know if they do special discounts for non-profits?

B Beth Q. 1 month ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about it, maybe on their pricing page or in a FAQ. Worth checking out.

Yep, they definitely have a non-profit discount. You usually have to apply for it though, it's not automatic. Good luck with the church site!

Is GiveWP actually free to start? Or is it like, only the basic donation form is free and everything else costs money?

D Derek Carter 2 months ago
There's a free version you can download from the WordPress repo. It's pretty basic but does let you get a donation form up. Most of the cool features like recurring donations or custom fields are in the paid plans.

Free version is good enough to get started, but yeah, you'll hit a wall pretty quick if you need more advanced stuff. Think of it as a demo for the pro features.

Quick question about their Black Friday deals. Do they typically apply to renewal subscriptions too, or just new purchases?

M Mark Whitfield 2 months ago
Usually just new purchases, or the first year of a new plan. I've seen them offer renewal discounts separately sometimes, but not usually tied to the big holiday sales.

P Priya 2 months ago
I think for Black Friday it's mostly for new plans. They sometimes have different deals for existing customers around renewal time, but you'd have to keep an eye out.
